I have a card to share with you this morning that was inspired by a sketch from Viva La Verve Sketch Challenge and The Shabby Tea Room.
Here is the card I created:
This is the sketch:
I thought this sketch was so unique. (sorry the picture turned out so small)Then when I saw the inspiration photo at The Shabby Tea Room I instantly knew the two would go together.
Isn't this a beautiful photo! The challenge is to be inspired by the colors, use ribbon and text in your project. I immediately thought of some flowers I had made using pages from a dictionary and distress inks which I thought would also go well with the sketch.
I have had a small piece of leftover ribbon sitting on my desk for like a month not wanting to throw it out but not knowing what to do with such a small piece. I ended up stapling the ends together to make a loop and cut another piece the same size so I could use them as leaves for my flower. For the cardstock I pulled colors from the photo and used the white base of the card for my background. It was too plain for my liking so I embossed it with an Anna Griffin embossing folder and inked it lightly with Walnut Stain distress ink. I then embossed the three other pieces of cardstock using a different folder for each piece. (I know I went a bit crazy with my Cuttlebug. ;) I felt like the colors were a bit too bright so I used a Walnut Stain ink on them too.
I ran across some pretty crochet trim and just had to add it. So under the flower it went and I made a tiny tag with the sentiment stamped in Timber Brown Memento ink and inked the tag with Antique Linen Distress ink and Walnut Stain. And there you have it! This was such a fun sketch to use.
I hope you join in on the challenges and let me know if you do. I would love to see your creations too!
